Are Black men & Black women better off without each other? Humm…yes and no.

In the case of those Black people who hate themselves (male and female), until they deal with their deeply rooted insecurities, there is no way any “union” will be beneficial for these two. Besides the total lack of respect they have each other, these are the people who absolutely dread having a baby with dark skin and kinky hair, and if thay are blessed with such a child, somewhere down the line that child will mistakenly learn (fr (from their self-hating parents) that their chocolate skin and tight curls are inferior and traits to met with contempt. Self-hate breeds self hate – a recipe for desaster.

But then there are those Black people who have love for themselves, who take pride in their culture, who are proud of their hair texture, who invest time in getting to know their history, etc. When these two people come together, it’s not perfect (nothing is) but there’s a level of respect and understanding that is absent from the lost folks listed above.

    The crux of the situation:

The percentage of councious Black males and Black females is very small. It’s similar to what Tommy has often stated; yes one can find a good Black woman but it’s like looking for a T-bone steak in a dumpster. And after the first few bouts of salmonella, many Black men and Black women become tired of the bullsh*t and decide to look elsewhere (outside of their culture) for affection.

Granted, Black men seem to have decided to “abandon ship” more so than Black women. However, instead of getting angry, calling these men sellouts, accosting non-Black woman, etcetera…maybe it’s time Black women take some accountability for their role in this issue. Don’t get angry, EVOLVE.

I agree 100%. I can’t see myself with anyone else but a black women…as long as she is a half-breed with a black father; not a black mother. I want mine to have a pacific-islander mother.
