DeAngelo Clark, a 30-year-old man from Florida, was accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death while calling her father on FaceTime [Apple’s video phone application] and was lying on the ground, according to reports. Clark was searching and capturing early this month for the murder of Kiara Alleyne, 20.

Agents from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office were called to an address at 2241 NE 78th Lane in Anthony on September 11 by a family member of the victim who was concerned about his welfare. When the officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim’s body.

According to court documents, while Clark was stabbing his victim, he and Alleyne’s father had a “strange conversation” through FaceTime, reports WESH.

During the call, Clark claimed that Alleyne had a knife. The father alleges that she called again and said: “I don’t have it. He has the knife,” before the call ended.

According to the report, the father saw his daughter lying in a pool of blood on the floor and Clark asked for advice on what he should do after killing the 20-year-old girl. The father called the police after talking with Clark, but the suspect had fled when they arrived.

Clark had also escaped with Alleyne’s one-year-old baby, which caused an amber alert in the county. The alert was canceled later after Clark delivered the baby to one of Alleyne’s family members.

Agents said Clark had also tried to set Anthony’s house on fire before fleeing. Police recovered a blanket or cloth that hung from the bottom of the oven and there was a strong smell of liquid for lighters in the building, reports WFTV.

After leaving the one-year-old boy with the family member, Clark broke into another Florida home and stole some items before attempting to set him on fire. Later, Clark suffered severe burns when he set himself on fire while sitting in his car. He was taken to a hospital at the Miami hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

“Right now, we are evaluating his medical condition. Detectives will be at the crime scene with him in Monroe County as soon as he can be transported back to Marion and we will bring him here to face charges,” said Cecelia Koon of Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Clark may also face additional charges in connection with the house fire.

According to him Miami HeraldClark had posted a message on Facebook after allegedly killing Alleyne, stating that he was going to take his own life and apologizing to his victim’s family.
