SYCAMORE – A DeKalb woman has been jailed after she used a belt to beat her child and a DeKalb School District 428 administrator who brought the child home, court records show.
Bianca S. Johnson, 28, of the 800 block of Russell Road, has been charged with aggravated battery and domestic battery. With a conviction, aggravated battery is typically punishable by one to three years in prison.
Police said in court records the administrator and another school employee brought the child to Johnson’s home about 1:30 p.m. March 11.
The child had been suspended from school after a fight.
Johnson was waiting with a belt and began yelling she was going to “whoop” the child.
The child ran away, but the school employees stopped him and brought him back to the home, where Johnson began swinging – hitting the child more than seven times and the administrator at least three times, according to court records.
When the administrator told Johnson she was not only hitting the child, but her, as well, Johnson said she didn’t care and kept swinging, the records show.
After the incident, the employees brought the child back to the school and contacted the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
Johnson was released on her signature Tuesday afternoon and is due back in court at 9 a.m. Thursday.
