Well, Today I was on my facebook page when I came across this photo that simply stated “Congrats to the brothers of 12 years A slave”! Maybe the headline should have read 12 years a sell out?
I immediately noticed that not one of the men were with a black woman so my Beastie Sense started tingling! And like normal, yep it was correct because as I read the comments I heard all of the usual.
So these same black women who are mad about this can watch scandal all day and have no issue? Lupita showed up with a white man that looked like Jesus and there was no issue but this is an outrage? really
1. They sellouts
2. They got money and want a white girl.
3. They are weak and cant handle a strong black women
4. They hate their mothers
and a lot of little disses that are just too stupid to mention.
So the question now is, do we really view men who date none black women as sellouts and self haters? If so, then why is that? Because if you look at it closely, a black woman with a white man gets praise yet when a black man does it, its WW3.
Be honest right now, when you saw this photo ladies and men, did you feel some type of way to know that Chiwetelu Umeadi “Chiwetel” Ejiofor (Actor), Steven Rodney “Steve” McQueen (The Director) and screen writer John Ridley all join to make one of the most powerful slavery movies of all time then go home to non black women?
