Warrant issued for Bills’s Von Miller for alleged assault
BUFFALO, N.Y. — An arrest warrant has been issued in Dallas for Buffalo Bills player Von Miller for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman.
The Dallas Police Department confirmed the warrant, which was initially reported by WFAA in Dallas.
On Wednesday at 11 a.m. CT, the Dallas Police responded to a major disturbance call, with the preliminary investigation showing that Miller and the woman got into a verbal argument and that he allegedly assaulted her.
Per police, Miller left the scene before officers arrived. The woman was not transported to a hospital but was treated for minor injuries. The investigation into the case remains ongoing.
The Bills released a statement on the incident Thursday morning, saying “This morning, we were made aware of an incident involving Von Miller. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment at this point.”
The NFL said in a statement that, “We are aware of the matter and have been in contact with the club. We will follow all legal developments. We have no further comment at this time.”
Miller, 34, was under investigation in 2021 by police in Parker, Colorado, but no charges were filed.
The pass-rusher signed with the Bills in 2022 on a six-year, $120 million contract. He has played 19 total games with the team, including eight this season as he comes off a right ACL injury. The Bills are currently on their bye week.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Buffalo Bills star Von Miller after his pregnant girlfriend accused him of assaulting her at their Dallas home on Wednesday, according to WFAA.
The 34-year-old Miller, who’s facing a third-degree felony charge of assaulting a pregnant person, hadn’t been arrested as of Thursday morning, the report said.
The Bills are on a bye week and do not have a game this weekend.
“This morning, we were made aware of an incident involving Von Miller,” the Bills said in a statement. “We are in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment at this point.”
In 2021, Miller was being investigated by Parker, Colo. police after his ex-girlfriend, Megan Denise, shared texts on social media that Miller allegedly sent that said, “I’m honestly praying for a miscarriage,” and that he wanted her to get an abortion.
He also allegedly told her, “I hate you! … You gon get yours! Believe that.”
Miller called the accusations “fake news” at the time, and Denise later issued a statement on Instagram.
“In light of recent media reports regarding my relationship with Von, I feel that I need to address a couple of things. First and foremost, at no point in our relationship was there any type of physical abuse or violence by Von, whatsoever,” she wrote. “For anyone to say otherwise, or to speculate such, is wrong.
“With regards to my social media posts, a part was misconstrued and taken out of context. I do regret making a private situation public, and in doing so, bringing unwanted attention to both Von and myself. Von and I are excited to be welcoming our baby into the world, and are committed to raising our child with love and compassion, together as a family.”
Miller, an eight-time Pro Bowler, signed a six-year, $120 million contract with the Bills in 2022 after winning the Super Bowl with the Rams.
The longtime Denver Bronco has 123.5 career sacks.
