Maybe women should be back in the kitchen…lol. Or maybe just maybe they shouldn’t be in positions of force–especially women who think deep down inside that they are MEN!

Off-duty cop killed mother-of-two, injured another woman, then turned the gun on herself in murder-suicide domestic dispute: Neighbors said sons were inside the house when their mom was shot in the front yard.

  • Police Officer Tiffani Gatson shot two women at her Rochester home, killing one
  • Angely Solis, 27, begged for her life and died with her children still in the house
  • Gatson used her off-duty weapon, a Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun in the shooting
  • The shooting was over a domestic dispute, police said, refusing to elaborate

An off-duty police officer in western New York state shot a woman to death, wounded another woman, and then killed herself during a domestic dispute, police said.

Police Officer Tiffani Gatson, 29, of the city of Greece, a Rochester suburb, shot 27-year-old Angely Solis and a second woman and then turned the gun on herself, Lt. Greg Bello of the Rochester police said.

The officer gunned the woman down with her off-duty weapon, a Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun. She was off-duty when the shooting happened on Monday night.ADVERTISEMENT

‘She was begging for her life,’ one neighbor told 13WHAM . ‘She wanted her just not to do it. Just to stop. She already shot her once.’

Solis’ two young sons were inside the home when she was killed in the front yard. She asked her neighbors to hide them before the shooting, they said.

‘She looked into my eyes and said, “Please go get my kids,”‘ another neighbor said. ‘And I tried to make that step to do that, and I couldn’t because the person was there and made it clear, “This doesn’t have anything to do with you, so back up.” And I just seen her fighting for her life and didn’t want us to leave, and she lost her life right in front of us and was begging us to help her.’

The second woman who was shot, understood to be a relative of Solis, is fighting for her life in the hospital. Police Officer Tiffani Gatson (pictured left) shot two women at her Rochester home, killing one. The father of the two children, who spoke to local media after the death of their mother, said he was fearful for his daughters after the shooting.

Gatson, 29, was taken to a hospital, where she died. The remaining victim was being treated at a hospital for gunshot wounds that police said were not life-threatening.

The shootings happened shortly before 7:30pm Monday at a home in Rochester, police said.

Bello said the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute but did not provide details.

Greece Police Chief Michael Wood said in a statement that he wanted to express his department’s ‘collective sorrow and grief.’

Wood said his agency would cooperate with the Rochester department and the state attorney general’s office in the investigation into the shooting.

By law, the New York Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation must assess all deaths caused by law enforcement officers.

‘On behalf of the Town of Greece Police Department, I would like to express our collective sorrow and grief with respect to last night’s events in the City of Rochester,’ Greece Police Chief Michael Wood said in a statement.Gaston is pictured soon after joining the force. ‘Unfortunately, we have seen events of this nature occur all too frequently and struggle to find answers in the aftermath.

‘The effects are far-reaching, from those who have lost loved ones to others throughout law enforcement organizations when a police officer commits such a horrible act, to our entire community.’

Gatson was the first African American woman to join the Greece Police Department. She gave videos speaking to students at Odyssey Academy, encouraging them in their careers.

‘I’ve wanted this for so long, for it to be finally be happening its truly a blessing for me,’ Gatson said when she joined the force back in 2018. ‘I’m policing in a community where I live, so I feel like its more heartfelt.’

The relationship between the victims to Officer Gatson is still being investigated. Gatson gave words of advice in a video speaking to students at Odyssey Academy+6View gallery
