Tekashi 6ix9ine (born: Daniel Hernandez) has pled guilty to nine counts in a federal crime case, WNBC reports and Pitchfork can confirm via court documents. Court records show that 6ix9ine entered his guilty plea on January 23. The counts include racketeering conspiracy, multiple firearms offenses, narcotics trafficking, and more. Pitchfork has contacted attorneys for 6ix9ine.

Previously, 6ix9ine pled not guilty to all charges back in November 28. According to court records, 6ix9ine is scheduled to be sentenced by January 24, 2020. The New York Times reports that 6ix9ine, who is possibly facing a mandatory sentence of 47 years in prison, is “cooperating with federal prosecutors.” According to The Times, if 6ix9ine “cooperates successfully with the authorities,” then the government could ask the judge for leniency in the rapper’s sentencing.

According to Page Six, 6ix9ine stated during his court appearance, “On or about June 2, 2018, in furtherance of Nine Trey [Gangsta Bloods], of the Nine Trey enterprise, I paid a person to shoot at a rival member of Nine Trey to scare him. The shooting took place in Manhattan.” He added, “I did this to maintain or increase my own standing in Nine Trey.” That day, Chief Keef was shot at in New York City. Reports had previously linked 6ix9ine with the shooting.

6ix9ine was arrested in New York City on November 2018 on federal crime charges. The rapper’s former manager Shottie, real name Kifano Jordan, and their associates Jensel Butler (aka Ish), Faheem Walter (aka Crippy), Fuguan Lovick (aka Fu Banga), and Jamel Jones (aka Mel Murda), were arrested on the same charges.

According to the indictment, viewed by Pitchfork, Hernandez and the other defendants “participated in the operation and management of” the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. The indictment accused the gang members of murder, robbery, assault, the sale of drugs, and more. Two of the charges that Hernandez faced have a maximum penalty of life in prison.
