MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The family of the woman killed during a fight involving children continues to pray for closure while adjusting to the harsh reality of losing their loved one.
A close knit family now grieving over someone they loved dearly spoke with FOX13.
Tamara Plummer’s family said she should still be alive, but they said that senseless violence took the mother of four who was expecting her fifth child from them.

“We’ve got kids out here, we got the kids that lost a parent. You know, they got a long journey ahead of them,” said Jimmy Burchett, Plummer’s brother.
According to police, Je’On Davis killed Plummer during a street fight between his and her kids on Quinn Street on March 14.
According to court records, investigators found security footage showing Davis going to his SUV in his driveway to get a handgun before he walked toward Plummer in “a straight, aggressive” manner and shot her.
“It could have been avoided,” Burchett said. “They just want the right people out there. So they view some situations like this, you know, especially you got people like your neighbors on the phone recording and saying, ‘Don’t break them up.'”
Plummer’s daughter, Destiney, was also arrested for shooting two people during the incident.
According to an affidavit, Destiney told investigators that she did have a gun but it went off by accident.
Destiney later bonded out of jail.
“My mother and my sister, they not taking it so well,” Burchett said. “I just want them to be able to cope with the situation and what’s going on. I know it’s kind of hard. You know, it’s going to take time but I just want to see everybody happy.”
Davis is set to appear in court Monday morning, records show.
Burchett created a GoFundMe page to raise money toward a memorial service for Tamara Plummer.
