The 911 calls made by people who saw the shooting deaths of three people at an Ocean Boulevard during the Memorial Day weekend were released Wednesday morning by Myrtle Beach police.

Devonte Dantzler, 21, Sandy Gaddis Barnwell, 22, both of Summerville and Jamie Williams, 28, of Ladson each died from trauma they suffered from gunshot wounds during the incident at the Bermuda Sands Resort at 104 N. Ocean Blvd., Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler said.

Keith A. Williams, 24, was wounded during the shooting and remains hospitalized for treatment.

Barwell was pronounced dead while she was being treated at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, while Jamie Williams and Dantzler were pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, authorities said.

In the calls, a woman can be heard screaming about gunshots and someone firing a gun outside the Bermuda Sands. The woman, who called police at 11:01 p.m. Saturday, tells a dispatcher she is seated in a vehicle across the street at the stop sign at First Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard.

“There’s a guy there with a gun. Get out,” the caller can be heard yelling to people passing by the area. “All you hear is gunshots. Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam.”

“That’s all you hear. You need SLED and the FBI down here,” the woman told the dispatcher.

The dispatcher asked the woman for more details about how many people are shot and about the gunman, but the woman said she didn’t have specifics.

“I don’t know how many gunman you have out there. All I know is there’s people running loose with guns at the Bermuda Sands,” the caller said.

Another caller, a man who called 911 at 11:02 p.m. Saturday, told a dispatcher that he was on a higher floor at the Bermuda Sands and when he looked down he saw a man had been shot.

“I heard gunshots and looked down and somebody was laying down like they got shot and they weren’t moving,” the male caller told dispatchers.

The investigation into the incident continues and no arrests had been made, Myrtle Beach police Capt. David Knipes said. No specific suspect information was available.

Myrtle Beach police also responded to at least five shootings that injured seven other people, all of which remain under investigation, Knipes said.

In the police report, officers were called at 11:03 p.m. Saturday about a large fight in the street in front of the hotel. Before officers got there they learned three shots were fired by a man striking Keith Williams.

Jamie Williams, Dantzler and Barnwell had gone to the second floor of the hotel after the fight when multiple gunshots were fired hitting the trio, according to the report. Police believe the shooter ran out of the rear of the hotel and left the area.

Two men were arrested on charges unrelated to the shooting at the scene of the incident.
