So LeBron, you decided that the best thing for you to do is go into an all out diss session of your father right? You honestly believe that without your father, you became an athlete? Not a scholar, not a humanitarian, not even a man who went out and took other less fortunate kids into your home to give them a stable family that they didnt have but a basketball player?
Well sir, I hate to inform you but, without your fathers genes, you wouldnt be who you are today!!!
Oh and by the way, you dont know who your father is, because the mother that you love so much, didn’t tell you who he is or doesnt know who he is which is a reflection on her more than him.
These men being pissed off at men that they don’t know and have never met is quite strange to me. I mean, how can one be upset at someone who they don’t know and don’t know the reason for them not being their? Boys who grow up like this are the true meaning of self hate because if his father was there and he saw his father beat on his mom or do some other bad things then yes, I would understand his joy that the father wasn’t there. Hell even then I would hope that his words to his father would be, “dad, I wish you had been a better man to my mother and a better father to me” but in this case, he is sending out a message to a man that may have no idea he is the father. That being the case Lebron, YOUR MOM IS TO BLAME NOT HIM!!!
How can we so easily forgive our mothers for being so reckless with their reproductive organs? I mean we hold men to a high standard when it comes to fatherhood but all mothers have to do is collect checks and not kill us and they get mother of the year awards.
In closing Lebron, maybe you could go and adopt some kids, maybe you could reach out to your mom and demand that she tell you who your father might be so you could go find him for yourself? Maybe you could reach out to some of the men that may have been with your mom 8-9 months prior to your birth but why not try to see and hear the other side of your lifes story? See when boys grow up with only their moms, they are at the mercy of if the mom wants to bury the father or if she wants to allow you to forge your own relationship with him and from the actions I have seen of your mother LeBron, she did the former instead of the latter.
I am not telling you to love your father, I am just telling you to not use his percieved abandonment as fuel for you to be more of an athlete, why not just use it to be more of a person in general, more of a father and more of a humanitarian?
PS… Stop being so hard on a man that you dont know!
Throughout his career, LeBron James has made it well known the importance of his mother, Gloria, in his upbringing. His father, however, is a different story. Gloria was just 16 when she gave birth to LeBron, and his father, Anthony McClelland, out of the picture, she raised him as a single mother. The four-time NBA MVP has not forgotten. He had some powerful words for his father in a forthcoming GQ cover story, which he posted on his Instagram account:
“Because of you Pops!” James wrote along with the photo. “Thanks all along. Could have said why me with u not being there but look what I made of myself.”
It’s a moving, affecting message that shows the hurt that can be caused when a parent abandons their child. It’s part of what drives LeBron today to be the devoted father he is.
