Let Them Answer Phones!

Or do some damn paper work but no way in hell let them try to grab male suspects because all that does is put everyone around at risk.

I don’t even think they would be good at arresting other women but if anything let them go arrest women but that is as far as I will go.

A police officer patrolling a Harlem subway station survived a cop’s worst nightmare Friday when she was kicked onto the tracks during an early-morning arrest of a suspected fare beater that was captured on video.

Officer Carolyn Anderson fractured her right wrist during the frightening fall after she and another officer tried to subdue the suspect shortly after 2 a.m. at the 125th Street station along the Lexington Avenue line, said law enforcement sources.

Anderson tried to secure the legs of Anquando Johnson, 25, while her partner, rookie cop Elijah Pardieu, pressed his arms and torso to the platform floor, the harrowing cell phone video shows.

The cell phone cameraman, Joaquin Santiago, said Johnson spit on the cops during the struggle. “I was shocked by the whole thing,” Santiago said. “I just took out my phone and started shooting.”

“Break it, break it,” suspect Johnson says on video.[More New York] Hit-and-run driver chased down by witness after killing pedestrian in Long Island: cops »

“Put a little pressure on it,” Johnson said. “You’re not breaking my leg good.”

Then the suspect kicked Anderson in the face.

As Anderson — who was wearing a mask — tried to resume the battle, Johnson managed to roll onto his back. The move gave him some leverage when he forcefully kicked Johnson squarely on her hip.[More New York] Motorcyclist, 31, loses control on Queens expressway and dies in crash »

“She went flying,” recounted Santiago, a grocery store clerk who was headed home to the Bronx after a night shift.

Anderson stumbled backward, lost her balance, and fell and somersaulted onto the grimy local subway track. As she fell, a northbound express train barreled into the station on the other side of the platform.

“It was crazy,” said Santiago told the Daily News.[More New York] ‘Shocking’: Unlicensed driver blows through Queens stop sign and crashes into car, killing high school friend: cops »

Santiago narrated his video as the officer fell: “No, no, no,” he said as Anderson tumbled. “Oh, my God. This is New York. Oh my God.”

Anderson quickly recovered and even retrieved the bottle of water she dropped on the tracks before beginning to climb out. Santiago and another man helped her back up to the platform.

Santiago asked the cop of she was all right. “She was in shock,” he said. “She didn’t say a word. It was definitely a New York moment.”[More New York] Cops responding to fight in East Harlem apartment find boyfriend with blood on his hands, girlfriend dead inside »

It appeared to Santiago that officers Anderson and Pardieu were seeking Johnson before they tried to arrest him. “He came down the stairs and they came after him,” Santiago said. “They were looking for him. One of them said, ‘Is that him?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, it’s me.’”

“He turned while he was being handcuffed and spit in the cops face. And this during the coronavirus,” Santiago said.

“This video is extremely disturbing,” said Sgt. Jessica McRorie, an NYPD spokeswoman. ”The officer could have easily been killed, and as a result of this assault, the officer suffered a serious injury.

“Any assault on a New York City Police Officer is an assault on society,” McRorie said. “Assaulting a police officer is a felony and we will ensure that this individual is held accountable for his actions and brought to justice.”

Johnson, who is homeless, was charged with assault on a police officer, reckless endangerment and theft of service. He was taken to Harlem Hospital for medical and psychological evaluation.

At arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court on Saturday, Johnson was ordered held on $60,000 bond or $20,000 cash bail. His case was adjourned for May 18.[More New York] Man shot in head, critically wounded, fleeing Bronx clash in car »

This was not Johnson’s first clash with cops. In September, he was arrested on charges of assaulting and spitting at a police officer in the Bronx.

When he was finally cuffed and placed on a stretcher following the September arrest, Johnson spewed bitter words and again spit at the officers, said sources.

“I have needles,” he said, according to a source. “I hope you catch HIV.”

In August Johnson was arrested on charges of assaulting a nurse at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens.
