Judge Joe Brown Arrested In Memphis

By:  Tommy “Tj” Sotomayor

Damn it man!  They are now arresting our black judges too?  Hell if they can be arrested I know I need to keep my punk a$$ out of court.  The last time i went to court it was to settle a small dispute so I was told and I got there then was swiftly arrested so I hated going to courts ever since then.  Two places that are no good for a black man in the USA, court and the military!!!

Judge Joe brown seems to have been made a victim of a child support case that he was trying to argue in front of a judge that may have gotten their dates wrong.  Judge brown has recently come on hard times both personally and professionally with the cancellation of his hit TV show and was now trying to get back on track by running for Shelby County District Attorney.   I sincerely hope that the judge can over come this not only in the case but with is bid for election!

***UPDATE AS WELL AS COURT ROOM AUDIO FROM THE INCIDENT***

(Memphis) Well-known TV court judge and former Shelby County Criminal Court Judge Joe Brown is being held at the Criminal Justice Center at 201 Poplar.
A request for bail has been denied.

We are told Brown showed up to Juvenile Court to represent someone in a child support case.

Court workers told Brown they had no record of the case.

Brown reportedly lost control and became verbally abusive.

One person said there was a near riot in the courtroom.

Juvenile Court Magistrate Harold Horne warned Brown to calm down, but he did not.

Brown was given two days in jail for contempt of court, but that increased to three days when he once again started yelling as he was being removed from the courtroom.

We are told Brown is being housed by himself for safety reasons.

Brown’s television show was cancelled last year and he is now running for Shelby County District Attorney against Amy Weirich.

Brown held a ‘Man Up’ rally in Memphis Saturday to talk about keeping kids out of trouble.

Juvenile Court Judge Curtis Person said in a statement, “Anyone who comes before the Juvenile Court of Memphis and Shelby County will be treated fairly, with dignity and with respect. Anyone who acts in a contemptuous manner toward this Court, toward any member of this Court, toward any employee of this Court or toward any visitor of this Court will be dealt with appropriately according to the laws of the State of Tennessee.”

Some people are not happy with a post on the Joe Brown campaign Facebook page, comparing him to Martin Luther King, Jr.
