The problem to me is how would we have responded if the mom was white and the girlfriend was black?

Thursday night was probably the biggest night of Isaiah Wilson’s young life. He was selected in the NFL draft by the Tennessee Titans, and his life is going to be changed forever. However, one thing that will never change is being his mom’s little boy. As Wilson received the news and was overcome with emotion, his girlfriend sat on his lap, covering a significant portion of the screen. Mama bear was having none of that and rather forcibly removed her from the shot. No one was going to get in Wilson’s way.

That’s one way to promote social distancing.

The moment went viral, and it’s no wonder considering how uncomfortable it was. Wilson’s girlfriend really didn’t seem to want to move, and in a matter of seconds it becomes a genuine power struggle in the middle of the most important moment of this future Titan’s life. It’s hilariously awkward, and Twitter naturally jumped at the opportunity to joke about it.

The night was an absolute win for Wilson who will be joining a promising up-and-coming team in the NFL and making millions of dollars along the way. For his girlfriend, it was a pretty hard L. Don’t mess with the mom — especially not if it’s Isaiah Wilson’s mom.
