BT-1000 Runs Over Cop After Stealing Jeggins From NY Mall! Proof They Are Only Worth $5! (Video)

Court paperwork states 24-year-old Gabrielle Thomas stole a pair of $49.95 jeggings from American Eagle Outfitters at the mall and were running out.

Officer Jacob Phelan, who was working at the mall, was alerted to the theft by store security. He and other officers ran after Thomas and the second woman as they got inside their vehicle and tried to drive away.

Officer Phelan caught up to the vehicle and tried to get them to stop, but was run over by the vehicle on his legs and hip. Greece Police said Officer Phelan’s injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

Thomas did not stop her vehicle, according to police, and continued to drive west through the parking lot and crashed into a curb. The vehicle stopped at the mall exit at Mitchell Road, at which time Thomas and the second woman ran from the vehicle. Thomas was caught, but the second woman was able to escape police custody.

The second woman has not yet been identified.

Thomas was charged with felony robbery 1st, assault 2nd, reckless endangerment 1st, petit larceny, and aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd. She was arraigned Wednesday morning and remanded to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.

Officer Phelan has been part of the Greece Police Department for one year. A spokesperson for the Greece Police Department said he is home resting and is expected to make a full recovery.

Greece Police Chief Patrick Phelan said Officer Jacob Phelan is not related to him.
