Police said a man apparently shot his wife at a Fort Myers beauty salon Saturday morning and exchanged fire with police before being shot himself. They did not identify the couple.
Police on Sunday said there was no further information expected to be released.
However, Jeangilles, who was helping several other friends and co-workers of Mouzon clean up the Fowler Street salon, confirmed that it was their friend Mahogany who was the victim Saturday.
“She’s going to be just fine,” Jeangilles said. “She’s going to be victorious.”
Jeangilles said the salon would be open later Sunday and for certain on Monday.
“We’re not closed,” she said.

Jeangilles and others working at the salon Sunday said Mouzon’s children are fine and are being taken care of.
Jeangilles and others at the salon Sunday also identified Mouzon’s husband, Ronnel Mouzon, as the shooter but didn’t want to comment about the actual shooting and circumstances surrounding the incident, citing the police investigation.
Mouzon has owned the Fowler salon since August 2009, according to business documents.
Mouzon was charged with aggravated battery in April after she stabbed Runnel Mouzon, 41. A Cape Coral police report said Ronnell Mouzon came home to gather clothing and belongings and was confronted by his wife about an extramarital affair.
The report said Mahogany Mouzon stabbed her husband and he hit her in the head with a handgun.
The charges against her were later dropped.
According to Lee County court records the couple has been in divorce proceedings since October.
Ronnell Mouzon was also the victim of a gunshot July 28, 2005.
Mouzon, 26 at the time and living in Fort Myers, suffered a gunshot wound to his foot — the second gunshot wound to his foot in four years. He was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.Get the Storm Watch newsletter in your inbox.
