Mother-of-two, 26, is knocked down and killed after she ran onto Mississippi freeway to retrieve her phone that she had dropped from car window while live streaming on Facebook

• Ashlee Sims, 26, had been on Facebook Live as she was riding down I-55 in Jackson, Mississippi
• Video shows Sims riding down I-55 South near Briarwood Drive and singing before she drops her phone 
• Jackson police said that the woman was trying to retrieve her phone when she was struck by the car
• She died at the scene 

A woman was fatally struck by a car after she ran out on a freeway in Mississippi to try to retrieve her phone after he flew out her vehicle window during a Facebook Live she was filming. 

The Jackson Police Department is investigating the incident involving 26-year-old Ashlee Sims, which took place at around 9pm on Tuesday night. 

Sims had been singing in the car as she filmed the Facebook Live, riding on I-55 South near Briarwood Drive, WJTV reports. 

Ashlee Sims, 26, had been on Facebook Live as she was riding down I-55 in Jackson, Mississippi. She dropped her phone and was fatally struck trying to retrieve it

She could be seen singing into the video until the phone was knocked out of her hand and onto the freeway. 

The clip continues for several moments until screams are heard in the distance and cars can be heard screeching to a halt.  

Other vehicles can be heard honking as the footage continues playing. Woman drops phone on FB Live just before being killed retrieving it

The mother-of-two died at the scene and the Facebook Live video was still on the woman’s account

Police shared that the woman had tried to retrieve her phone, and was hit by a vehicle. Authorities are investigating.

According to a Facebook account belonging to Sims, both of her children had upcoming birthdays in August.
