Fans of Ariana Grande have taken to Twitter in defense of their idol after talk show host Wendy Williams body shamed the young singer.

The hashtag #CancelWendyWilliams has been trending since the 51-year-old’s controversial comments were broadcast Thursday.

Williams said on her show that Ariana will ‘forever look 12,’ adding:  ‘And I don’t mean that in a good way. It’s nice to look younger than you are, but when you look too young and then you’re short… she’s only like 4’11”. I don’t look at her as, like, a woman.’

Ariana hasn’t said anything publicly about Williams’ comments. But her fans are rushing to her defense, their ire raised by the suggestion that if you’re petite and youthful, you’re not a woman.

‘Arianators’ have accused Williams of being jealous of Ariana’s good looks and have called her out for being a hypocrite.

Williams made fun of the way the singer looks during a segment about Ariana and rapper Big Sean ending their romance. The show was originally broadcast in April and repeated this week

Williams made the remarks about Ariana back in April when she talked about the singer’s split from rapper Big Sean and the episode was re-run as the talk show is on summer hiatus.

The hashtag #CancelWendyWilliams has been trending since Thursday night in response to the talk show host’s comments. Williams has not responded to the campaign to get her show taken off the air. The talk show host is currently on her one-woman Sit Down Tour…Too Real For Stand Up and has hosted her signature talk show for seven seasons, earning two Emmy nominations.
