NYC maniac who turned himself in charged with murdering teen, stabbing her twin sister
The knife-wielding menace who allegedly stabbed teen twin sisters — killing one of them — for rejecting his advances outside a Brooklyn bodega surrendered to cops Friday morning, authorities said.
Veo Kelly, 20, of Stuyvesant Heights, turned himself in at the 78th Precinct to face charges in the fatal stabbing of 19-year-old Samyia Spain outside Slope Natural Plus on Fourth Avenue near St. Marks Place around 2:20 a.m. Sunday, cops said.
Police charged Kelly with murder, assault and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

As detectives walked him out of the 78th precinct stationhouse and into a waiting unmarked car, Samyia’s older kin, Danasha Goodson, was heard saying, “The bastard that killed my sister.”
“F–k you!” others in the crowd yelled at the accused killer.
Kelly, who didn’t know the sisters, was leaving a nearby catering hall when he allegedly approached the teens as they walked to their local deli — and then attacked them in a rage after they rebuffed his advances, police have said.
He has at least two prior arrests, one from July 2023 when he was accused of attacking his 18-year-old ex-girlfriend at the Pier 25 Marina in Lower Manhattan, according to police sources and prosecutors.

The victim was playing Uno with her friend at the marina when she heard her ex-beau say, “It’s about to get wicked, where’s the party at?”
Another woman then suddenly pummeled the victim, causing her to fall to the ground, before kicking her, according to a criminal complaint.
That’s when Kelly allegedly grabbed his ex’s satchel off her shoulder, dumped out her belongings and tossed her phone into the river – before zapping her in the leg with a Taser, the complaint charges.
He was arrested weeks later and charged with second-degree robbery as well as second-degree attempted gang assault, according to the court document.
Prosecutors requested that he be held on $20,000 bail, but Judge John Zhuo Wang granted supervised release with electronic monitoring, the Manhattan DA’s Office said.
Sources said he was then arrested in September for attacking another woman in Far Rockaway, but the outcome of that bust was unclear and Queens prosecutors said there was no record of the case, meaning it could have been sealed or the charges were dropped.
Last Sunday, the Spain twins, their brother and at least one friend had been taking a break from a family game night to head to the deli and noticed someone following Samyia, the surviving teen told the New York Daily News.
“I grabbed her phone and I was like, ‘Come with me, come with me,’” Sanyia Spain said. “I was like, ‘Why are you talking to that boy?’ She said, ‘I don’t want to talk to that boy.’”
To get him off their backs, Samyia decided to give her Instagram handle to the man. Relatives told The Post the girls had met him earlier in the evening at a local club.
“She said she wasn’t going to follow him back,” Sanyia recalled. “That’s it. She said ‘no.’”
That’s when the man flew into a rage.
“This guy came out of a party hall down the street, got very aggressive with one of the girls trying to get some contact information,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny told reporters Thursday.
“When they didn’t take to his advances, he got verbal, then he got physical.”
The stranger, who had been drinking, stabbed Samyia in the chest and she later died at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, cops said.

Her sister was stabbed in the arm and taken to the same hospital, where she was treated and released.
Kenny said police had surveillance footage from outside the bodega showing “the physical encounter” but not the actual stabbing. The footage shows the suspect wearing the same clothes cops later found at Kelly’s apartment.
Lorraine Holloway, a woman who knew the slain teen since she was a baby, called the killing “senseless” as she stood outside a makeshift vigil near the victim’s Boerum Hill building Friday.
“They oughta kill his ass, that’s how I feel,” the woman said. “They oughta kill his ass because that was senseless what he did. That didn’t make no sense. That is an innocent child. Because she didn’t want to talk to you, that gives you the right to do that? That’s murder. They don’t make no sense.”
The twins’ father Steven Spain was overwhelmed with emotion Wednesday when he saw his daughter’s blood still staining the street in front of the deli where she was slain.
“How could he take her?” the heartbroken father asked in tears.
“The animal that came out of there and they let him in there with a knife,” he said, pointing to the building the suspect allegedly partied at before the attack.
A tenant at Kelly’s apartment building said Friday that he knew the suspected murderer since he was 4 or 5 and called him “a trouble maker.”
“He has friends hanging out late at night,” the man said. “They smoke weed in the lobby and in the courtyard, they sit on the steps….. I’m coming in day in and day out and I have to walk through them.”
But the tenant said he was “shocked” and “appalled” that the young man he’d known for most of his life would do “something so tragic to another human being.”
“He’s 20 years old. I still can’t believe it,” he said. “I could see him going in the wrong direction but I never thought it would get this bad, so toxic…..to actually kill somebody.”
“There is no one in his family like that except for him,” the man added. “I know his mother. We say hi…she’s quite respectable. [The family is] good, no problems at all.”
“How could you do that?” he said of the cold-hearted crime. “Because someone rejected you? He is always hanging around these girls. He’s a good-looking boy.”
“This is unforgivable. This is a tough, a tough one.”
Another tenant said the deadly crime “should have never happened.”
“How far is too far?” the resident said. “There is no coming back from this. I’m going to pray for both families.”
