It is instances like this that make me say most of the things that I say.  I am so tired of rich blacks still acting like they are poor hood people.  You will never hear about Brad Pitt or George Clooney going out like this but if we choose to be around black, this is probably what we have to look forward to as an ending or as a wake up call.  I hope that Benzino uses this as a wake up call to eliminate no good niks from his life and only concentrate on those with wealth building in mind!

To have this done by a family member makes it all the more disgusting to be honest because at this point, who can you trust?

This is horrifying to say the very least…and we do mean the VERY least! According to rashaentertainment.com rapper and Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star Benzino was shot while attending his mother’s funeral and is in critical condition.Allegedly, Benzino was shot three times while driving away from the funeral in the funeral procession. It is reported that it was his own nephew that did the shooting and that the nephew is currently in custody.Benzino announced earlier in the week that his mother had passed via his twitter account.Said Zino,

“God knows I have been through alot in my life, BUT EVERY INCH OF GOOD, KINDNESS AND LOVE IN MY SOUL IS BECAUSE OF THIS WOMAN. A BIG PART OF ME IS LOST NOW AND I WILL NEVER BE THE SAME, MA WORDS CANT EXPRESS MY LOVE FOR YOU.I WILL MISS EVERY BREATHING MOMENT, I DON’T KNOW HOW I WILL CONTINUE KNOWING YOU ARE NOT HERE. Im lost.”

Benzino reportedly traveled back to his hometown of Boston for today’s funeral services and  WCVB Boston, is reporting that the local police say one gunshot victim was taken to South Shore Hospitaland was still alive.

Witnesses told NewsCenter 5 that the shooting took place during a funeral procession.

Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said,

“The incident was between two vehicles whose occupants knew each other. The driver of a Bentley shot the driver of a red Dodge SUV, who exited his car and was taken to the Duxbury police station by a passerby. The injured red Dodge SUV driver, who officials say was in his 40s, was then transported by ambulance to the hospital. The Bentley driver has been arrested and will be arraigned Monday on a charge of armed assault with intent to murder.”

There is no word yet from Benzino’s camp, VH1 or Mona Scott Young.

The Urban Daily sends our thoughts and prayers out to Benzino, his family, friends, loved ones and fans. We will continue to update this story as information becomes available.

The Boston Globe reports:

State Police said the initial report stated the shooting occurred after an argument between family members, but investigators are now working to determine what sparked the violence. In his statement, Cruz said that a person driving a Bentley shot the driver of a red Dodge SUV, who got out of his car and was taken to the Duxbury Police Department by a passerby, before being taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Bentley was arrested and charged with armed assault with intent to murder, according to Cruz. He will be arraigned Monday in Plymouth District Court. His name was not released.

Father William Williams of St. Peter’s Church in Plymouth, where the funeral procession was headed from Quincy, said that the family arrived at the church late but that the funeral was held.

When he looked out of the church to see the funeral procession arrive, he said, he saw blood smudges on the limousine and the hearse. The family was upset, he said, but did not speak about the shooting.

A section of Route 3 south in Duxbury was closed after the shooting, and State Police appeared to be questioning witnesses in cars.

State Police were re-routing southbound traffic on the highway, closing off the section between Exits 11 and 10, State Police spokesman Lieutenant Daniel Richard said Saturday afternoon.
