Dear Tommy,

I wanted to write to you about your latest show.  I absolutely love your show, I think it shows another side of you.  Your shows allows people to really get to know you and understand where you are coming from.  You really try to  help and understand your callers/audience without some of the harshness you use on your YouTube videos.  You still tell the truth but in a more therapeutic way. Either way, I wanted to talk about Lana.
When I first started listening to you about 6 months ago, I had a hard time liking you.  Once I realized that you had a black daughter and girlfriend, it opened up my mind to allow me to actually hear what you were saying.  I was able to realize that you did not hate black women but you hated our actions.  I also watched a video in which you said that if you weren’t dating a black woman you probably wouldn’t talk about black women anymore which made me feel like you weren’t just a black man trying to ‘bash’ black women because you don’t date us anymore.  Then you started dating Lana.
When I first realized that you and Lana were a couple, it bothered me.  I thought, Tommy isn’t keeping his word.  It made me uncomfortable that you were talking about black women while sitting beside a white woman.  I once watched a video made by a black man that dated white women about why black men date white women.  He allowed this white woman to say some of the most ignorant things and they laughed together at us.  It really bothered me, just like it bothered me when white men (trying to date me) would talk crap about white women.  I don’t feel like you have to put down your own because you like something else.  So when I saw you and Lana together, I thought oh gosh, let the madness begin. Then I got to see who Lana really was and I absolutely adore her.
The people who have a problem with Lana need to pay attention.  Lana isn’t bashing anyone; in fact she listens more than she talks.  When she does talk, she talks a little about what she has seen in the black community and a lot about her own cultures (giving the audience a different perspective).
I’m not always crazy about interracial relationships, but I happen to love this one.  I love that she is interested in learning about black people, I love the fact that she can braid your daughter’s hair and I love the fact that she listens more than she comments.  I think that it is very important to learn about the ‘culture’ of your other half.  Despite me agreeing that biracial children should be called just that, the world usually thinks of that child as black.  Therefore, if the two of you ever had children the world will see them as black and she should have an understanding of what being black is all about.  That includes the things we don’t want to talk about, racism, stereotypes, etc.
I want Lana to read this because she seemed a little hurt when the person in the chat room said you had lost credibility (due to her) and I wanted her to know that most of us don’t feel that way.   A lot of us believe that she is very intelligent and offers a different perspective.  From the comments I read on FB and YouTube most of us love that the two of you seem compatible and happy.   To be honest, I don’t even look at Lana as being white, I just look at her as you very intelligent, very sweet, other half.
Your message hasn’t changed you are still the same Tommy.  Just because your woman isn’t black doesn’t change the fact that you are still raising a black female child and people should pay attention to that instead of who your significant other is.
To you and Lana, stay happy and healthy.  And Ms Lana, please do some healthy cooking videos.  :o)

Hope you actually get this email. LOL!
